Netflix releases virtual reality app for Google Daydream

Netflix has released an application that makes it possible to watch video images with the Daydream virtual reality glasses. The software is available in addition to the standard Netflix app, which simply transmits images in 2D.

The application called Netflix VR appeared in Google’s Play Store. Those who have a Pixel smartphone can install the software for free from the application store. After that, movies and series from the Netflix collection can be viewed in virtual reality with the Daydream headset. For the application, in addition to the usual subscription, nothing extra needs to be paid.

Google had previously announced that a Netflix version would be released for the Daydream, although no release date was announced yet. The internet giant also made it clear that competitor HBO is coming with an application, and that a number of game makers will release VR games for the headset.
