Netflix has released a trailer for Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, an interactive film that will be available on the streaming service from Friday, December 28. The story is set in the eighties, around the fictional game Bandersnatch.

According to Netflix, the interactive film consists of a total of 312 minutes. However, viewers see 90 minutes, but have to make a choice a number of times for the further course. Netflix released similar interactive series for kids earlier this year, such as The Read Cat – Caught in a Story.

The game Bandersnatch in the Black Mirror movie is fictional, although a game of the same name was in development in 1984. In 1986 the game Brataccas was released for the Amiga, Atari ST and Macintosh. That game is said to be based on remnants of the unreleased Bandersnatch.

The interactive film is directed by David Slade, who also directed Black Mirror episode Metalhead from the fourth season. The film stands alone, just like the episodes in the series. At some point in 2019, Black Mirror will also get a fifth season.
