Netflix is testing new design of Apple TV app
Netflix is testing a new version of its app for Apple TV. The appearance of the app has changed and should make it easier for the user to request information about programs and films.
The new UI will first be tested among a small group of subscribers before being rolled out to all Apple TV users. Product director Pat Flemming says no The Verge that the new design should ensure that viewers have to navigate less through the app. The static tiles that highlight programs have been replaced with tiles that expand when the remote control lands on them. Information, such as the trailer and description, is also more in the center of the tile. Currently, users still have to scroll through the content to access the information.
In addition, Netflix will replace the navigation menu on the left with a menu in the top bar. That menu can be accessed by pressing the back button on the remote control. The current 'Categories' and 'New and Popular' tabs will be removed. 'New & Popular' will be replaced by 'My Netflix' and 'Categories' will be moved to the search tab.
