Netflix acquires game studio from former Zynga and Ensemble employees

Netflix has acquired the American game studio Boss Fight Entertainment for an undisclosed amount. It is the third acquisition of a game studio for Netflix since the company announced it would offer games.

With the acquisition of Boss Fight Entertainment Netflix is ​​expanding its range of games, reports Amir Rahimi of Netflix Game Studios. Boss Fight Entertainment is a studio founded in 2013 with offices in the American cities of Allen and Austin. The studio has 130 employees and is known for the mobile rpg dungeon boss.

The studio came into existence after Zynga Dallas shut down. Among others, the composer of the Age of Empires games and Age of Mythology and a former CEO of Amazon Game Studios work at Boss Fight Entertainment. Netflix acquired the game studio Night School last September and Next Games earlier this month.

Netflix announced in the summer of last year that it would offer games. Netflix Games was introduced last November. Users must install the offered games for iOS and Android on their smartphone or tablet.
