Alphabet subsidiary Nest has presented its first doorbell. The bell has a camera with an angle of view of 160 degrees and has its own internet connection. Users can speak to visitors through the microphone and speaker in the bell.

Speaking to the Nest Hello doorbell goes through the Nest app for smartphones, the manufacturer said during an event where it presented new hardware. The Hello is an extension of the security cameras that Nest introduced earlier after purchasing Dropcam in 2014.

The camera has HDR support and a movable stand allows users to adjust the angle of the camera remotely. Quick Actions allow users to enter a set of fixed answers that Hello can give when someone rings the doorbell. Through the Nest Aware subscription, the doorbell can also send a signal when people are talking at the door.

The manufacturer also introduced an alarm system, including sensors that can monitor windows and doors. The products will hit the market early next year, but Nest has not yet disclosed what they will cost.
