NES games from Nintendo Switch Online will get a rewind feature on July 17

The NES games included in the Nintendo Switch Online offering will be expanded with a rewind feature on July 17th. The NES games Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew will also be added to the Switch Online collection on the same day.

With the Rewind Feature coming to Nintendo next week, Switch Online members can easily rewind a bit in the classic NES games. When the ZL and ZR buttons are pressed simultaneously, a timeline appears at the bottom of the screen with small screenshots of previous scenes from the game. Via that timeline, the player chooses how far he wants to rewind the game.

Among other things, the rewind function offers a solution if players have made a mistake or want to try a certain part of the game again. The Rewind Feature is also present in some of Nintendo’s other retro games and consoles, such as the Classic Edition of the Super NES.

On July 17, when the rewind feature becomes available, Switch Online members will also get access to two “new” classic 8bit NES games: Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew. In total, players can then choose from 46 different NES titles.
