The number of users viewing Facebook only on their mobile device increased by 58 million to 399 million last quarter. This means that Facebook’s mobile-only share is now 30 percent of the total number of users.

Every month 1.07 billion people log in to Facebook via their mobile phone and that is 654 million every day. More and more users are choosing to ignore the desktop for Facebook. A year ago, the number of users viewing the site exclusively on mobile was 219 million, but that has now almost doubled to 399 million. This makes Facebook more and more a mobile company: the number of monthly users grew by 14 percent, but the number of mobile users grew by 31 percent.

This is evident from the quarterly figures published by the company. In total, Facebook now has 1.3 billion monthly active users. In Europe and the US and Canada, the growth has finally stopped: in Europe the number of monthly users grew by 3 million and in the US and Canada it was 2 million.

Facebook manages to monetize its users well. Facebook’s quarterly revenue increased by 60 percent compared to last year to 2.91 billion dollars, or 2.16 billion euros. Earnings were $791 million, or $588 million, more than doubling from the second quarter of 2013. Each user currently represents a revenue of $2.24, or $1.66.
