Naughty Dog Limits Twitter Feature Uncharted 2

Completing a chapter in Uncharted 2 can no longer be automatically posted to Twitter because it caused too many tweets. The option will be restored later via a patch, reducing the number of tweets.

Publisher Sony has released a review version of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. While playing, reviewers take advantage of the option to automatically send their game progress to Twitter. However, that turns out to generate a lot of tweets. The game sends a tweet for completing a chapter in the game, and appears to do so several times an hour. For that reason, developer Naughty Dog is going to give the option Switch off, Evan Wells, director of the developer, said via the official PlayStation Blog. Not all of the Twitter function is disabled, just completing a chapter is no longer passed on to Twitter.

The option will still be in the menu when the game hits stores on October 13. Naughty Dog wants to release a patch after the release with which the completion of a chapter can also be announced via Twitter. The patch will reduce the frequency of the tweets.
