Nacon Shows First Gameplay RoboCop: Rogue City, Released June 2023
Publisher Nacon shares the first gameplay trailer of the upcoming shooter RoboCop: Rogue City. The game will be released in June of 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and for PC via Steam.
In RoboCop: Rogue City, the player takes control of the titular character, who must secure the streets of a crime-ridden Detroit. RoboCop doesn’t just deal with dystopian thugs in the game; he also seems to have problems internally, according to the end of the trailer. The part-human, part-robotic agent hesitated in a life-threatening situation because of a glitch, something RoboCop shouldn’t have happened to.
That is a theme that also reappears in the three original films from the 80s and 90s. RoboCop, initially a normal human named Alex Murphy, is assaulted and killed by criminals before Omni Consumer Products turns him into the super robot. His old identity, on the other hand, always haunts him.
The lead actor from the first two films, Peter Weller, also returns. The now 75-year-old American actor played Alex Murphy and the robotic agent in RoboCop by Paul Verhoeven and RoboCop 2 directed by Irvin Kershner.
The game is being developed by Teyon, a Polish developer who is not making a game based on an 80s action hero for the first time. The company previously made Terminator: Resistance and Rambo: The Video Game.
