MultiVersus will be offline for at least six months in the run-up to official release
The fighting game MultiVersus can no longer be played for at least six months in the run-up to the official release. On June 25, the game, now playable as a beta, will temporarily go offline. The official release date of MultiVersus is what publisher Warner Bros. concerns the first half of next year.
Free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus gives up Twitter to go offline on June 25 for an as yet unknown period. The game can be downloaded until April 4. After that, the game is for players who already owned the game. MultiVersus has been free to play in a beta version since July last year. The creators of the game want to release MultiVersus in the first half of next year. The game was recently available as a beta.
The makers say they need more time to implement improvements. Those improvements would mainly be in the development of new characters, new maps and new game modes. In addition, they say they want to implement matchmaking and netcode improvements and improve the game’s progression system.
The in-game currency Gleamium will no longer be available for purchase from April 4. All progress and previously earned or purchased content will carry over when MultiVersus becomes available again. This includes, for example, unused Gleamium Tokens, Battle Pass Tokens, Character Tickets, and other in-game items.
MultiVersus is a game where players can pit different Warner Bros. characters against each other. It is possible to play with characters from the Scooby Doo franchise, Adventure Time, Looney Tunes and Game Of Thrones, among others. According to SteamDB the game had its highest number of concurrent players eight months ago: 153,433.
