Multiplayer mod for Skyrim gets beta test
The beta testing phase of Skyrim Together, a multiplayer mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will start soon. It will start as a closed beta and open to everyone soon after. It is not yet known when the test will start.
The beta test has been announced via the Skyrim Together subreddit. User Ijustwantsteamdosh, one of the developers of The Together Team, reports that the beta will only be closed for a short time. He reports that the period is intended for estimating server traffic, server stability and making necessary improvements. It is not yet clear how long this phase of the beta will last. The servers operate out of Europe, but the team promises to add additional servers for players based elsewhere.
Skyrim Together supports multiplayer for up to eight players. Players can hang out with each other and do quests with each other, but can also explore individually. In addition, the mod supports player-versus-player. All stats, such as experience and skills, remain linked to the individual player. Items can be traded via chests, but players also have the option to pickpocket their friends, provided the AI doesn’t catch them.
