Work on the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 3 is approaching a “playable” stage, according to the developers. The makers have now managed to play together for an hour without a crash or timeout occurring. The mod is being developed by the creators of GTA:MP.

In a development blog, community manager Sebastian M. of Nanos.io talks about the recent test session. The developers have also captured images that they show on YouTube. The video shows how different players in Just Cause 3 use a parachute and wingsuit.

The game itself does not include any multiplayer feature. That was also missing from Just Cause 2, but before that a mod was released, which became very popular. Just Cause 3 Multiplayer is being developed by another team, which was also behind GTA:MP. However, work on this alternative multiplayer mod for Grand Theft Auto V was halted under pressure from publisher Take2 Interactive.

Work on the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 3 began at the end of 2015, but the team plans to release the mod sometime in 2016, but hasn’t given a concrete date yet. The project is officially supported by developer Avalanche Studios and publisher Square Enix, according to the makers.
