Multiplayer Ghost of Tsushima will be available separately and will receive a new Rivals mode
The multiplayer mode of PlayStation game Ghost of Tsushima will be available separately on September 3. Sony and developer Sucker Punch make this known in a blog post. The standalone multiplayer mode will cost 20 euros.
Sucker Punch logs in a blog post that players who purchase the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends multiplayer mode separately can upgrade it to the full Director’s Cut version of Ghost of Tsushima at any time. For PS4 users it costs 50 euros, while an upgrade to the PS5 version costs 60 euros. The multiplayer mode will also get a new Rivals mode on September 3. That is a game mode in which two teams of two players compete against each other to defeat waves of enemies.
With each defeated enemy in Rivals mode, players collect ‘Magatama’. With this they can inflict damage on the other team, for example by buying curses that plague the opponents. When users have spent enough Magatama, they unlock a Final Stand wave of enemies. Players win when they win it.
In addition to Rivals, the samurai game’s multiplayer mode is also getting a Gear Mastery game system. This allows players to upgrade their gear up to level 120, up from 110 before. Users can also unlock a second perk slot with this, among other things. Furthermore, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will receive a new update on August 20, introducing some other new features. Among other things, developers would have rebalanced the survival mode to shorten the playing sessions.
