MSI will soon enter the SSD market
According to controller manufacturer Sandforce, Taiwanese manufacturer MSI will soon expand its product range with solid state drives. On the Sandforce website, MSI is mentioned as a producer of ‘Sandforce driven SSDs’.
A large proportion of SSDs produced today use Sandforce controllers. On the Sandforce website you will find a page that lists all manufacturers that use Sandforce controllers, as well as the controllers used and the products in which they work.
The MSI logo has now also appeared on the relevant page. From the information it can now only be concluded that the Taiwanese company will supply SSDs that use the SF-2000 controller. It is likely that MSI does not manufacture the SSDs itself, but that they are ODM SSDs. MSI will probably start using the SSDs in its own products; MSI’s high-end laptops now still have third-party SSDs on board.
It is not yet clear whether the SSDs will also be available separately. MSI has not yet commented on the information.
