MSI has put information online about Intel’s upcoming Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs. It confirms that the CPUs are made using the Intel 7 process. The chips are on average three percent faster than before. Only the Core i7-14700K gets more cores.

The specifications were leaked in a video that has now been taken offlinebut tech website Videocardz was able to take screenshots of that. The data states that the fourteenth generation of Intel CPUs, Raptor Lake-S Refresh, has no major changes compared to the thirteenth generation, the normal Raptor Lake-S series. For example, the chips are still made using the Intel 7 process.

On average, the Raptor Lake Refresh series is three percent faster than current Raptor Lake processors. The i5 and i9 variants of the Raptor Lake Refresh series would have the same configurations as their predecessors. This gives the Core i5-14600K six Performance cores and eight Efficiency cores. The Core i9-14900K has eight P-cores and sixteen E-cores.

However, the Core i7-14700K gets four extra E-cores compared to the 13700K. This means that the chip has eight P-cores and twelve E-cores. According to figures from MSI, the Core i7-14700K is on average seventeen percent faster with multi-threaded workloads thanks to those extra cores.

Rumors have been going around for some time about the arrival of Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh. The manufacturer has not yet confirmed its arrival. The processors may be announced at the Intel Innovation event in September.
