MSI shows teaser of MEG X570 motherboard for AMD Ryzen 3000 processors
MSI shows a new motherboard in a teaser and gives a number of hints. It turns out to be a motherboard with the new X570 chipset, for the upcoming AMD Ryzen 3000 processors. The unveiling will follow during the Computex fair at the end of May.
On Twitter MSI shows a short animation in which parts of a motherboard can be seen with the numbers 567. Flashes in the animation show the number 3000. Above 6 is a WiFi logo and MSI seems to indicate that the motherboard has Wi-Fi 6, or 802.11ax support.
The 5 and 7 probably indicate that it is a motherboard with the X570 chipset. It has not yet been announced, but has already appeared in databases. Twitter user Komachi earlier this week found registrations from two X570 motherboards: the MSI MEG X570 Godlike and MEG X570 Ace.
The new motherboard is intended for the third-generation Ryzen processors, which will most likely get type numbers in the 3000 series. AMD previously announced that the new CPUs are based on the Zen 2 architecture with 7nm CPU chiplets. AMD will announce details of the processors during the Computex fair.
Twitter user Tum Apisak says that he found a mention of an engineering sample of a Ryzen 3000 processor with sixteen cores. That CPU would run at 3.2GHz with a turbo of 4.2GHz. The clock speed of such samples need not be representative of final products.
Specifications lists of the Ryzen 3000 processors have been circulating for a long time, but there are no concrete indications that they are correct. AMD has given strong hints on the arrival of consumer processors with more than eight cores.
