MSI has unveiled its first gaming monitor. The Optix G27C has a curved 27″ panel with a full HD resolution. MSI is currently mainly advertising the product as part of a bundle, but it also seems to be available separately.

MSI indicates that a Samsung panel has been incorporated into the monitor. It is not indicated which technique is used, but the high contrast ratio of 3000:1 and other specifications that are very similar to those of the Samsung C27FG70 indicate that the screen has a VA panel.

The screen has a maximum brightness of 300cd/m² and can display 85 percent of NTSC color gamut and 110 percent of sRGB. The response time is 8ms and the gtg time is 4ms. The maximum refresh rate of the screen is 144Hz. The monitor can be connected to a computer with an HDMI 1.4, Displayport 1.2 or DVI cable.

It is MSI’s first monitor. The company has previously produced PhD computers, but no monitors. On the product page, MSI states that it is a ‘temporary bundle promotion’, but the monitor is also for sale at Newegg Canada, among others, for 450 Canadian dollars. Converted and with VAT that is 390 euros.
