MSI releases ProBox23 barebone with Haswell support
MSI has announced the ProBox23, a barebone with mini-itx motherboard and Intel H81 chipset. The compact system thus has support for Haswell processors and also offers space for two 2.5″ SATA drives.
The new ProBox23 weighs about 1.15 kilograms and is 20.2 by 20.4 by 5.48 centimeters, MSI has announced. Built into the case is a mini-itx motherboard with an Intel H81 chipset, which allows the motherboard to support Haswell series processors. In addition, there are two slots for DDR3 memory, up to a maximum of 16GB. There are two SATA connections for storage and space for 2.5″ hard drives or SSDs.
MSI has equipped its barebone with a so-called Vesa mount, so that the box can be mounted on the back of a monitor, for example. There are also two USB 2.0 ports and just as many USB 3.0 ports. MSI has also provided the ProBox23 with a gigabit ethernet, hdmi and esata connection.
According to the manufacturer, the ProBox23 will be released this month and the barebone will then be available worldwide. MSI has not yet disclosed what it will cost.
