MSI launches custom Radeon RX 480 cards
MSI will release its AMD Radeon RX 480 video cards in the Gaming series in mid-August. It concerns the Radeon RX 480 Gaming 4G and 8G and the Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 4G and 8G, where the X version is slightly overclocked than the card without X.
Another difference between the X version and the card without X is that the latter is not supplied with a backplate as standard. Furthermore, all cards have Twin Frozr VI cooling that MSI introduced with the arrival of the new Nvidia GPUs. According to MSI, the cooling system is quieter and cools 20 percent better than its predecessor, number five. The cooling system uses MSI’s Torx 2.0 fan. The accompanying heatsink is designed to better direct the air to the 8mm thick heatpipes.
AMD focuses on virtual reality and high resolutions with the RX 480 GPU series. MSI provides the MSI Gaming App. The app allows gamers to quickly switch between different settings, such as overclocked mode, Gaming and Silent. The fans of the video card do not spin below 60 degrees Celsius.
The cards will be on the market in mid-August. A target price has not yet been announced.
