MSI launches curved 24″ monitor for gamers
MSI has announced a 24″ variant of its curved gaming monitor. The brand previously released a 27″ version. The Optix G24C is MSI’s second display and this model probably also contains a Samsung panel.
The specifications on the MSI website do not state what type of panel is in the G24C. It is probably a VA panel from Samsung, just like in the G27C announced last year. The screen has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and could display the full srgb color space. The monitor has a curvature of 1800R.
Furthermore, MSI claims a typical response time of 1ms, a maximum brightness of 250cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. The refresh rate is 144Hz and there is support for FreeSync. The monitor can be connected through HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2 or DVI-D.
MSI announced its first monitor in December last year, as part of a bundle with a PC. This Optix G27C has now also been released separately, although the screen does not seem to be available at European web shops yet. Some German online stores have the 27″ version in their price list for about four hundred euros. It is not yet known what the 24″ version will cost.
