MSI Introduces Two Compact Nightblade Game Systems – Update
MSI comes with two new preconfigured gaming PCs. The Nightblade X2 is the top model and comes with up to a GeForce GTX 980 Ti. MSI equips the smaller Nightblade MI2, which succeeds the previously announced MI, with a GeForce GTX 970 4GB.
Both systems come with a Core i5 or i7 processor of the Skylake generation and can house up to 16GB of DDR4 memory. The MSI Nightblade X2 has a housing with a volume of sixteen liters and is equipped with a motherboard with Z170 chipset, which allows overclocking. MSI has placed an ‘OC Genie’ button on the case, allowing users to increase performance at the touch of a button. The motherboard has a Killer Ethernet connection and there is room for two m2-pcie-ssds.
The Nightblade MI2 is a quick update of the MI announced in July this year. With a volume of ten liters, the housing is quite compact. MSI gives this model a motherboard with B150 chipset, which means that the overclocking functions are missing. The small system has five USB 3.1 ports, one of which is a type-c connector on the side. The two systems have built-in RGB LEDs. The color can be adjusted using the supplied software.
MSI reports that the new Nightblade systems will be available in October. At the time of writing, no suggested retail prices have been announced.
Update 16:23: MSI Benelux announces that the Nightblade X2 system will be available at the end of November from 1749 euros. The Nightblade MI2 will be launched in the Benelux in the first quarter of 2016 for an unknown price.
