MSI Introduces Two B450 Motherboards With Optimizations For Ryzen 3000 CPUs
MSI has announced a pair of B450 motherboards. The B450 Gaming Pro Carbon MAX Wifi and Bazooka Max Wifi come with WiFi antennas and are optimized for third-generation Ryzen CPUs. Exact release dates and suggested retail prices are still unknown.
The B450 Gaming Pro Carbon Max Wifi has an ATX form factor and is broadly very similar to the regular B450 Gaming Pro Carbon. According to MSI, the motherboard has received some optimizations for better compatibility with Ryzen 3000 processors. For example, the motherboard offers support for DDR4 memory with speeds of up to 4133MT/s in combination with a Ryzen 3000 CPU. For previous AMD CPUs, the maximum memory speed is 3466MT/s.
The Gaming Pro Carbon MAX also contains, just like the regular Gaming Pro Carbon, two USB 3.2 gen 2 connections with throughput speeds of up to 10Gbit/s, two USB 3.2 gen 1 connectors with speeds of 5Gbit/s, and four USB 2.0 connectors. gates. Furthermore, the motherboard has two m2 connections and two PCI-e 3.0 slots.
The B450 Bazooka Max Wifi is a micro atx motherboard and is similar to the B450 Bazooka V2. The motherboard has a 32MB BIOS ROM, TechPowerUp writes. That is favorable for Ryzen 3000 CPUs, because the bios for such processors is often relatively large. For example, many older motherboards with 300- and 400-series chipsets often used 16MB ROMs, forcing manufacturers to omit some features of Ryzen 3000, Hardware.info writes.
At the time of writing, the product page of this motherboard is not yet online; exact specifications are still unknown. MSI does report that the Bazooka Max Wifi has a few USB 3.2 gen 1 ports, although those are actually USB 3.0 connectors under a different name. The current Bazooka V2 has four of these connections, as well as four USB 2.0 ports.
