MSI introduces three ECO motherboards for Skylake chips
MSI has announced three new motherboards in its ECO series, which has been marketed as an energy-efficient series. The H170M, B150M and H110M are motherboards for Intel Skylake chips that have to distinguish themselves with low consumption.
It is the second generation of MSI’s ECO series and will initially consist of the H170M ECO, the B150M ECO and the H110M ECO. Among other things, the use of an ‘optimized pcb and circuit design’ should keep consumption low, although MSI does not clarify what those optimizations consist of. The manufacturer also includes its ECO Genie and ECO Center Pro software, which allow users to change settings that affect consumption.
The motherboards support Skylake generation Intel processors and ddr4 2133MHz memory, distributed over two banks. They feature a PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot and two PCI-E x1 variants. In addition, support for dvi, vga and hdmi is present and there is a gigabit ethernet interface.
The H110M ECO has two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports on the front and two on the back. The H170M and B150M in the ECO line also have two for the front but four for the rear. There is also a difference in the number of SATA ports: with the H170M ECO and B150M ECO there are six SATA600 interfaces, with the H110M there are four. The motherboards are available immediately.
