MSI Announces Geforce GTX 970M and 980M Notebooks
MSI has announced three new gaming laptops equipped with a GeForce GTX 900M GPU. There will be two models in the company’s GS series and a 17.3″ model in the GT line has been announced.
The 19.9mm thick GS Stealth and Ghost laptops come in black, red and silver variants with 15.6″ screen and with 17.3″ panel. MSI releases different configurations with an Nvidia GTX 970M and 980M. The systems will receive an Intel Core i7, a maximum of 32GB DDR3 memory and up to four SSDs in raid0. As usual, the SteelSeries keyboard and Dynaudio speakers are present.
In the GT series for gamers, MSI will only release the GT72 in the Benelux: a 17.3″ model that only comes in black and is equipped with a wireless Killer N1525 network card with WiFi-ac support. This laptop comes in configurations with similar specifications to the GT models. MSI will release models with matte full-HD screens, among other things. The Taiwanese company has not yet announced prices. Nvidia announced the GTX 980M and GTX 970M on Tuesday. The 980M has 1536 cores, while the 970M gets 1280 cores.The GPUs have a memory interface of 192bit, in combination with a maximum of 3GB for the GTX 970M and 4GB for the GTX 980M.
