Mozilla shows designs for new Firefox logos
Mozilla has announced that it is looking for new logos for Firefox and related products. It shows some designs and asks for comments from the Firefox community.
Mozilla writes in a blog post that the current Firefox logo with a fox and a blue ball, which it uses for its Quantum browser, is not enough to include other products. This includes not only the specialized Reality browser for AR and VR headsets or the Focus mobile browser, but also other Mozilla products.
That is why it has started again and has devised a new system to accommodate the different logos. It emphasizes that these are concepts and that a refinement process still needs to take place. For example, it is possible for a logo to change completely.
It asks the Firefox community for comments, but also says that it will not crowdsource logos and that there will be no voting. For example, Mozilla deals with questions such as the coherence of the new logos and whether they still feel like Firefox.
It presents two ‘systems’ within which different concepts fall. Each system has its own “masterbrand” logo, which Mozilla will use for marketing and events, as well as in places like the Play Store. In addition, there are logos for limited-purpose browsers, for general browsers, and for other apps and services.
