Mozilla Releases Firefox Reality Browser for Windows Mixed Reality Headsets
Mozilla has released its Firefox Reality web browser for VR and AR applications in the Microsoft Store. The browser was previously released for various VR headsets and can now also be used with Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
Firefox Reality is available on the Microsoft Store and can be downloaded from the PC, Surface Hub, HoloLens, or a mobile device. This version of Firefox Reality is compatible with Windows 10, the ARM64 and x64 architecture. According to WindowsBlogItalia, the functionality is still somewhat limited and some websites, for example, are not yet displayed properly.
Last year Mozilla released this browser for vr and ar applications. Firefox Reality was already available on the HTC Vive, Oculus Go and Quest and the Google Daydream. For the Firefox Reality browser, Mozilla combines technology from Firefox with the Servo web engine. Mozilla believes that a specific browser for VR and AR headsets is necessary, because the input on such devices is very different than on a traditional computer or smartphone.
