Mozilla makes Firefox Reality 1.0 available for VR glasses
Firefox Reality, a special browser for VR glasses, can be downloaded from September 18 for HTC Viveport, Oculus Go and Daydream. It is the first cross-platform browser available for virtual reality and augmented reality.
In a blog post, Mozilla shows which features Firefox Reality has. The browser offers several alternatives to entering text with a keyboard. Using a microphone, the user can use his voice, but he can also be presented with a homepage with VR optimized content. Developers of VR content sites can contact Mozilla to have their pages included on the homepage.
Firefox Reality uses the Quantum engine and supports, among other things, a privacy mode. Over the coming months, Mozilla will make bookmarks, 360-degree videos, and individual user accounts available.
