Mozilla adds ten add-ons to nightly version Firefox for Android
The nightly version of Firefox for Android will receive support for ten additional add-ons, Mozilla has announced. The new stable version of the browser came out at the end of July with support for nine add-ons, and it met with criticism.
Mozilla added the new add-ons to the nightly version this week, the company says. The update is now live in the Play Store. The update came out on Monday. The add-ons may be available now that Mozilla has made some APIs compatible with the current version of Firefox for Android.
The previous version supported all add-ons suitable for mobile use, but the new version came out at the end of July with support for far fewer add-ons. The ten new add-ons should also arrive in the stable version soon. That will happen in November. In the meantime, the nightly version will receive support to try out all add-ons, so that developers can make them suitable for use in the new version of the mobile browser.
