Motorola has unveiled an expensive design mobile with a round display made of sapphire crystal. The Motorola Aura also has a rotating mechanism that, according to the American mobile phone manufacturer, does not wear out.

Motorola is trying to market the mobile as expensive as possible to make by emphasizing the expensive parts of the phone. For example, it would take two weeks to produce the housing with the black and white pattern. The device is opened via a ball bearing with 130 balls, which makes it feel like you are opening a car door. In total, the device consists of seven hundred parts. The phone is inspired by a watch.

The LCD has a diameter of 1.55 inches. The phone is on the heavy side at 141 grams, although that is largely due to the sapphire crystal, which weighs 62 grams. It is 18.5 millimeters thick. You can take photos with a 2-megapixel camera; the photos can be stored on the internal memory of 2GB. The device has an 810mAH battery on board, enough for more than seven hours of calling or 400 hours of standby. Motorola has not disclosed anything about the operating system, although that probably had to be adjusted to the round display of the phone. The phone will hit stores in December and will cost $2,000 from Motorola.
