Motorola is considering making Windows Phone devices

Mobile maker Motorola is considering using Windows Phone on future smartphones. That says a top man of the manufacturer, which now usually makes mobile phones with the world’s leading Android operating system.

According to CEO Sanjay Jha, at a conference in Boston, Motorola will see if Windows Phone 7 becomes a strong platform. Which reports FierceWireless. The American manufacturer now only makes smartphones with Android and dumbphones, but previously released devices with Windows Mobile.

Motorola previously denied that it was involved in anything other than Android. The manufacturer has benefited greatly from Google’s mobile operating system, and has made a comeback thanks to Android and the support of US telecom provider Verizon Wireless. The latter has poured a lot of money into promoting the Droid series of Motorola smartphones. In Europe, Motorola achieved success with its waterproof smartphone Defy.

It is unclear why Motorola is now considering Windows Phone. The manufacturer may not be sure about the future of Android, now that many manufacturers are facing patent claims from Apple, Microsoft and various patent companies, among others. Google itself said last week that the threat of patent claims could reduce the number of Android devices if no action is taken.
