Motorola unveiled the Moto X Force on Thursday, a smartphone that should distinguish itself with its sturdiness. For example, the AMOLED screen of the 5.4 “phone is equipped with five layers of sturdy glass, which should absorb shocks and prevent breakage.

Motorola calls the screen technology ShatterShield. The manufacturer even promises that the screen will not break and offers a four-year warranty to back up the claim. The top of the five layers is a screen protector, below that are two touchscreen layers between two reinforced glass layers to keep them together.

The 5.4 “amoled screen has a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, bringing the pixel density to 540ppi. The manufacturer has provided the device with a water-repellent coating that should provide further protection, even if it is splash water and not immersion. dimensions of the device are 150x78mm, with a thickness of 9.2mm.

The X Force contains a Snapdragon 810 octacore, 3GB lpddr4 and standard 32GB or 64GB storage memory with the option to expand this with micro-SD cards. The battery capacity is 3760mAh and the device supports fast charging and wireless charging based on the PMA and Qi standards.

The rear camera is a 21-megapixel model with dual-LED flash and image stabilization. On the front is a 5-megapixel camera. The Motorola X Force is equipped with a micro USB connection, not a USB-c variant like some top devices from competitors.

The X Force ships with Android 5.1 with minimal customization. The device will receive an update to Android 6.0, Motorola promises. Euro prices are not yet known at the time of writing. In the UK, the 32GB model costs £499 and the 64GB unit costs £534.
