Mortal Kombat 11 developer working on removing 30fps cap on PC
The developers of Mortal Kombat 11 released in April are working on an option for PC players to remove the 30fps cap and increase it to 60fps. That limit applies to certain parts of the game, where the frame rate has a limit of thirty frames per second.
A representative of Warner Bros. posted the May patch notes on a Mortal Kombat Reddit page, breaking news of the 30fps limit for the PC. He notes that complaints about certain parts of the game running at a maximum of 30fps are being heard and that an option to increase that limit to 60fps is being worked on. The representative has not given any further details and says more information will follow shortly.
A few days after Mortal Kombat 11 saw the light of day, the mod maker Endri Lauson already came up with a mod for the PC that removes the 30fps limit, so that a 60fps limit applies to Mortal Kombat characteristic fatalities, fatal blows and The Krypt. He also indicated that the game is poorly optimized and that the fps increase can only be noticed by PC players with very powerful PCs.
Mortal Kombat 11 runs at 60 fps on all consoles, which also applies to the Nintendo Switch. Certain parts of the console versions of the game are maxed out at 30fps, but so is the PC version of the fighting game. This was criticized because PCs usually meet the hardware requirements for a higher frame rate.
