Electronic Arts and Koei Tecmo have revealed Wild Hearts. The game, with gameplay reminiscent of Capcom’s Monster Hunter series, is set to release on February 17, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The game will cost 70 euros.

The Wild Hearts trailer shows Azuma, a fantasy version of feudal Japan. There, the player takes on large monsters called Kemono alone or with up to two other players. They ravage the inhabitants of Azuma by making the land uninhabitable and leaving a trail of destruction behind them.

Just like in the Monster Hunter games, the player has different kinds of tools to fight the monsters. In this case, the player can build various wooden structures called Karakuri. These can be scaffolding from which the player can jump with a glider to devices that shoot harpoons.

Wild Hearts was previously announced, but the name of the game was not yet known and no gameplay was shown. EA and Koei Tecmo talked about a “hunting game,” but didn’t explain what that term meant at the time.
