Monitor from Asus combines 32″ panel with UHD resolution and 10bit display

Asus has announced a 32-inch display with UHD resolution of 3840×2160 pixels in the company’s ProArt line. The display for graphics professionals has a 10-bit panel that displays 100 percent of the Adobe RGB color spectrum.

The ProArt PA329Q from Asus contains an IPS panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and viewing angles of 178 degrees. The monitor is equipped with displayport 1.2, mini-displayport and hdmi and via these interfaces the screen can display images with a refresh rate of 60Hz. This is at 30Hz via the HDMI 1.4 connection, which is also present. There are also four USB 3.0 ports.

The ProArt monitor supports 10bit color rendering and can display 100 percent of the Adobe RGB gamut, according to Asus. Asus also mentions the presence of a 16bit lookuptable. The manufacturer provides a calibration application that works in combination with the 16-bit lookuptable and thus sets the hardware directly, with the color profiles stored on chips in the monitor itself. The technology is compatible with calibration packages such as those from X-rite and Datacolor. It is not known when that delivery will start and neither is the price.

The specifications of the PA329Q largely correspond to those of the predecessor PA328Q, which, however, has to make do with a smaller color range and a 12-bit lookuptable.
