Modern Warfare 3 is also coming to Wii
The shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will also be released on the Nintendo Wii. It is not yet clear which developer is responsible for the transfer to the Wii, but the game will in any case be released at the same time as the other versions.
On November 8, Nintendo Wii gamers, just like owners of an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or PC, can get started with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Activision has told Eurogamer.net. confirmed. According to Activision spokesman Eric Hirshberg, the publisher has chosen to release the game for the Wii as well because it does not want to exclude any part of the Call of Duty community.
Although it is obvious that Activision is looking for the largest possible market for its biggest title of the year, that has proven to be no guarantee for a Wii version of Call of Duty in the past. The first Modern Warfare was transferred to the Wii by development studio Treyarch, but Modern Warfare 2 has never been released on a Wii version.
Around the release of Modern Warfare 2, Robert Bowling from creator Infinity Ward know that the Wii wasn’t powerful enough for the shooter. According to Bowling, Infinity Ward wanted to deliver an equal gaming experience on all platforms and that would not be possible with the Wii. It’s unclear why Wii hardware is no longer seen as a limiting factor in developing a Wii version of Modern Warfare 3.
