Mod team promises VR version Half-Life 2 for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive
A team that previously created HLVR is now working on a new version of Half-Life 2 for virtual reality. The game must work on the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The price? The game should be completely free to anyone who has ever purchased Half-Life 2 and Episodes 1 and 2.
The team has created a Steam Greenlight project to get the game off the ground. The makers promise, among other things, to provide support for HDR lighting, new effects, textures, models and maps. An interface has been created for virtual reality to deal with weapons in a realistic way. For example, a reloading animation for weapons has been added.
To play the game, you need Half-Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2. Initially, the game will only contain the original game, but later on both Episodes will be added. It is still unknown if there will be multiplayer options or a co-op mode in the game, Road to VR reports.
