Mobile game Fallout Shelter Online comes out in the West
The free-to-play game Fallout Shelter Online, which was previously released in China and can be considered the successor to Fallout Shelter, will also be released in English and in the West. There is no specific release date yet.
Fallout Shelter Online features a pvp system that allows players to compete against each other, something that the original Fallout Shelter lacks. This is apparent from recently released videos and information on, among other things, the page in the Google Play Store. There also seems to be a new storyline in the mobile game compared to Fallout Shelter, in addition to the addition of a gacha-like mechanism with a revenue model around cards with different hero characters.
According to MMO Culture, Chinese publisher Gaea Mobile Limited has announced that the English-language version of the game will be released in the West. The mobile game was developed by the Chinese Shengqu Games. These are also the two parties that released the Chinese version of the game in that country in 2017.
Fallout Shelter was released in 2015, shortly before Fallout 4. In the game, the player is given the task of managing his own Vault. In this way the residents must be guided and remain satisfied. This also forms the basis in Fallout Shelter Online. In this sequel it is also possible to form a team of well-known Fallout characters to experience adventures and go into the wilderness.
Interested parties can pre-register for the mobile game via a website of Gaea Mobile Limited. The free game will be released for Android and iOS, although no official release date has yet been announced. The Philippine version of the App Store lists an expected release date of April 22.
