Moba game Smite coming next week for Xbox One
The Xbox One version of the popular moba game Smite will be released on Wednesday, August 19. The game has been in beta since May this year. Players will be able to merge their game PC account with their Xbox account for a little while longer.
The developer of the moba game, Hi-Rez Studios, has announced that merging the accounts will remain possible until August 31. After that, the feature will be permanently removed. When merging accounts, gems, mastery levels and stats & activities are not included. The merging does not mean that XP that is subsequently earned on PC, will be transferred to the Xbox One, Hi-Rez writes in a faq that they have prepared before the merging. The game is also free to play on Xbox One. The Xbox One founder’s pack, a pack containing all Gods, 400 gems and two skins will also no longer be for sale after August 31.
Smite is one of the most popular moba games right now. The developer reported on July 24 of this year that it has managed to bring in a total of ten million players. Dota 2, one of Smite’s competitors, has a similar number of active players, according to Steamspy. League of Legends is said to have at least 27 million active players. It’s not clear how many of the 10 million Smite players actually play regularly.
