MMD introduces Philips superwide monitor of 44.5″ with 5120×1440 pixels
MMD introduces the Philips 45B1U6900C, a monitor with a screen diagonal of 44.5″. It is a curved screen with a resolution of 5120×1440 pixels and the same surface area as two 24″ screens next to each other.
MMD presents the 45B1U6900C as a business monitor where the manufacturer highlights, among other things, the presence of a USB-C dock with RJ45 network connection, 100W USB Power Delivery and a KVM switch. Due to the 32:9 aspect ratio, the idea is that multiple windows can be used side by side, without the need for a second screen.
The Philips 45B1U6900C has a VA panel with a 1500R curvature, which is equivalent to the curvature of a circle with a radius of 1.5 meters. The claimed contrast ratio is 3000:1 and the maximum brightness is said to be 450cd/m². There is DisplayHDR 400 certification and the screen shows 123 percent of the sRGB color space.
The manufacturer reports that the Philips 45B1U6900C will be available from this week. The recommended retail price is 1089 euros.
