MIUI beta brings 4k60 video recording capability to Pocophone and Mi 8
Xiaomi has released a Miui beta for the Pocophone F1, Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro that allows 4k60 recording. It is the latest in a series of additions that Xiaomi has been adding to its phones in recent months.
In recent months, Xiaomi has added ‘Game Booster Mode’, face unlock for apps, 960fps video recording and Widevine L1-drm for Netflix in HD to the phones through the MIUI betas. There is not yet a changelog for this update, version 9.3.1, but XDA-Developers already has the features and download links in mind.
The updates come in the form of .zip files that have to be manually flashed in the recovery. XDA also points to a forum member who just packaged the libraries for the camera so that flashing is less invasive and users can still get the new camera feature.
MIUI is the Android shell of Chinese Xiaomi, just like Samsung has TouchWiz and OnePlus puts OxygenOS on its phones. Under the hood, though, we’re just talking about Android 9 Pie.
