Minisforum shows its first desktop motherboard with integrated mobile CPU
Minisforum has announced its first ‘Mobile on Desktop’ mini-ITX motherboard. This contains the AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX laptop processor, although the motherboard is intended for desktops. The so-called BD770i should cost 489 euros and is expected to be delivered in December.
The mobile AMD Ryzen 7745HX CPU soldered to the desktop motherboard contains eight cores, sixteen threads, clock speeds of up to 5.1GHz and has 32MB of L3 cache. The manufacturer claims that the motherboard still delivers ‘desktop-level performance’, but at the same time the laptop processor should provide reduced power consumption and quieter operation.
In addition to the CPU, the BD770i contains a Radeon 610M IPU, two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots, two DDR5-SO-DIMM slots with a maximum speed of 5200MT/s and a PCIe 5.0 x16 connector to which an additional GPU is connected. can become. The motherboard also comes with an integrated cooling system with the option to mount an additional fan on it. In addition, the BD770i has connections for HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C, among others, and according to the manufacturer, the BD770i offers 8K support.
The mini-ITX motherboard costs 489 euros on the Minisforum website, although at the time of writing it is on sale for 459 euros. There will also be a variant with the better-performing Ryzen 7945HX CPU, called the BD790i, although no price and release date has yet been announced.
