Mini-R2-D2 has Lightsaber remote control
With the new Star Wars movie coming in December, this toy might earn a spot on your Sinterklaas wish list. The Japanese manufacturer Takara Tomy has made a small R2-D2 that can drive around your desk and is controllable via a small lightsaber.
Don’t think that the small R2-D2 has the battery life to drive to a ‘galaxy far far away’ without recharging. The battery life is a rather meager forty seconds, in which you can let the little Star Wars hero drive around your desk, Toy-People writes. After that, it has to charge again, but that doesn’t take (light) years either: charging is beeps within ten seconds.
The R2-D2 is a few centimeters tall, while the accompanying lightsaber remote control is also not quite the size to successfully fight Darth Vader, thanks to its size of about six centimeters.
The small toy, which undoubtedly not only children can enjoy, should be released in August and would cost around 25 euros.
