The original PC version of Minecraft, the Java Edition, has sold 30 million copies. The sandbox game released in May 2009 reached this milestone on Wednesday. All editions added together, Minecraft had already sold 150 million times in October last year.

Marc Watson, developer at Mojang, brought the news outwards. Almost ten years ago, on May 16, 2009, the first version of Minecraft was released. Since then, the game’s creator, Mojang, has changed hands. Microsoft paid $2.5 billion for the Minecraft maker in 2014.

Watson also responded to a user who claimed that the game is becoming less popular. “That’s not right,” the American tweeted. By October, Minecraft had 91 million monthly players across all versions and had sold 150 million copies. Watson does not disclose how high that number is now.
