Minecraft is getting PSVR headset support this month
Developer Mojang Studios will release an update for Minecraft on the PlayStation 4 this month, which will give the game support for the use of the PlayStation VR headset.
Roger Carpenter of Mojang Studios does not mention a specific date, just saying that PSVR support will be available this month. Support is being added via a patch for the Minecraft game. Everyone on the PlayStation 4 will automatically receive that patch.
In VR there are two modes: Immersive and Living Room, although Carpenter does not explain exactly what those modes entail. Furthermore, players can set all kinds of things to tailor the VR experience to their wishes. According to the developer, the DualShock 4 controller in combination with the PSVR headset is used in the regular way to move and perform other actions.
The developer says it has been working on PSVR support since the studio got the green light from Sony to bring cross-platform support and the Bedrock version to the PS4. That happened in December last year.
