Minecraft for Samsung Gear VR comes out
A new version of Minecraft has been released for use with the Samsung Gear VR. The VR edition costs $ 6.99 and is available in the Oculus Store. The game is equivalent to the Pocket Edition for smartphones. Developer Mojang will later release a version for the Oculus Rift.
To play Minecraft: Gear VR Edition, a Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Note 5, S6, S6 edge or S6 Edge+ is required in combination with the Samsung Gear VR headset. A wireless controller is also required to play the game. Oculus recommends a SteelSeries Stratus XL for this.
The app, which currently costs about 6.16 euros with a price of 6.99 euros, contains the same functionality as the Minecraft Pocket Edition and works cross-platform with that edition and the Windows 10 version of the game. Mojang emphasizes that the Oculus Rift version of Minecraft is on the way, but does not say when it will be available.
The developer says several adjustments have been made to prevent nausea. For example, adjusting the camera would go in ‘snappy’ steps. According to Mojang, this is ‘surprising’ at first, but you get used to it quickly and it is less tiring for the brain.
