Microsoft: Windows 10 22H2 is the latest version of the operating system
Windows 10 will no longer receive updates with new features, Microsoft confirms. This makes the current version, 22H2, the latest version of the operating system. Microsoft previously indicated that the operating system will receive security updates until October 2025.
Microsoft says now making it clear that the operating system will no longer receive new features, “to help consumers and organizations plan with Windows releases.” The last ‘feature update’ of Windows 10 appeared in October last year and was already a relatively small update, with functions such as the ability to show certain notifications through Concentration Aid.
In the message in which the company announces that it will not bring any new features to Windows 10, Microsoft reiterates that the operating system will receive security updates until October 14, 2025. The Enterprise and IoT versions are longer supported; Long-Term Servicing Channel updates will be available until January 2032, depending on the version and operating system.
Windows 10 appeared in July 2015. Microsoft advises users to switch to Windows 11, the successor that appeared in October 2021. New versions of Enterprise LTSC and IoT Enterprise LTSC of this operating system will be released in the second half of next year, Microsoft further announced.
