Microsoft will stop the free-to-play game Forza Street this spring. The company released the latest update for the game on Monday. Forza Street appeared in 2019 for Windows PCs and followed a year later for smartphones.

The developer behind Forza Street announces via a support website that support for the game will be discontinued in the spring, but an exact date is not mentioned. The company reports that the game will no longer be playable after this has happened. The game will therefore be removed from app stores.

Players will also no longer be able to purchase in-game currency from Monday, and users will be refunded for Forza Street purchases they have made in the past 30 days. The game store will remain open so that players can still spend their in-game currency. Players also receive a discount on items. Microsoft also released a final update for Forza Street on Monday, January 10. In it, among other things, a new car is added to the game.

No clear reason is given for the discontinuation of Forza Street. The developer writes that it is “proud of the community” it has built with the game and that it wants to use the knowledge it has gained to create new Forza products. What that means in concrete terms is not stated.

Forza Street is a rebrand of Miami Street, a racing game from 2018. Players don’t have to steer themselves in the game; the controls are focused on timing the throttle, braking, and deploying speed boosts. Forza Street became available in 2019 for Windows via the Microsoft Store and came out in 2020 for Android and iOS.
