Microsoft will remove Twitter from its advertising tool
Microsoft will remove the Twitter integration from its Advertising tool. Business customers can use them to run advertising campaigns on various social media. Twitter recently increased prices for API use.
It is now still possible in the tool to read and post tweets and measure engagement on the platform. That will end on Tuesday, April 25th. Twitter’s new API prices are valid from Saturday, April 29. The tool still works with platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Wired reported recently that in the new system Twitter charges at least $42,000 per month from business customers for using the API. Users can request a maximum of 25,000 tweets for this purpose. Officially, Twitter doesn’t reveal prices and terms for business customers; for this they must contact the company.
Microsoft isn’t the only one to have parted ways with Twitter recently. Broadcasters NPR, PBS, CBC and Swedish Public Broadcasting all recently left the platform.
