Microsoft will provide Office for iPad with mouse support this year
Microsoft Office for the iPad will receive support for the use of trackpads and mice later this year. The support has been around in iOS for a while, and now Microsoft plans to update its office suite to be compatible with it.
Cursor support in Microsoft’s Office suite is expected to arrive this year. According to The Verge, that would be “by the fall.” The exact date is unknown at this time. The support would come in the individual apps Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as in the summarized Office app that has been available since earlier this year.
Users must be on at least iOS version 13.0 for mouse support, or iOS 13.4 for trackpad support on Apple’s own Magic Keyboard keyboards. The feature also works with Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2, as well as third party mice and trackpads.
