Microsoft warns of end of support for Windows 10 21H1

The 21H1 version of Windows 10 will no longer receive standard updates from December, Microsoft warns. The company has released a new warning about the impending end of this version of the Windows operating system.

Support for Windows 10, version 21H1, will end on December 13. Microsoft warns operating system users before the end of support in a blog post. It concerns all editions of that operating system. In addition to Windows 10 Home, these include Windows 10 Enterprise, Enterprise Multi Session, Education, IOT Enterprise, and the Pro versions, including Education and Workstation. A final security update will be released on December 13 of this year, but after that the OS will no longer receive monthly updates, both not for security and with new updates. Microsoft recommends that users update Windows 10 to the latest version.

Microsoft previously warned users to end support. Windows 10 21H1 was released in May last year. The so-called May 2021 Update was a relatively small, cumulative release that was nevertheless downloaded by many users. Microsoft has in a separate support document also warned extra for the upcoming end of Windows 8.1. Support for this will disappear entirely on January 10 of next year.
